Gandhinagar Railway Station, Gandhinagar

Redevelopment

The redevelopment plan for the Gandhinagar Railway Station is one of Prime Minister Modi’s dream projects. At a height of 65 metres, the 300- room 5-Star Leela Palace Hotel will be the tallest building to grace the skyline of Gandhinagar. The project involves re-development of the existing Gandhinagar Capital Station (GNC) building through various passenger amenities, modern facilities and convert the same into a world-class railway station. Platinum Rating LEED Standards are being followed for the project. The design of a world class hotel facility above the railway tracks not only makes the project a first of its kind in the country, but also proposes and sets the benchmark for an innovative way of land-use. The multi-functional aspect of the building also makes it sustainable in its concept whilst providing a range of facilities to its passengers.
