Offices for BHEL, SAIL & NBCC, New Delhi

Commercial

Sitting elegantly on a 5-acre site, overlooking the manicured greens of Delhi Golf Club, is a commercial complex. With a built-up area of 2,00,000 sq. ft., it serves as the headquarters for four state enterprises – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). This complex has been designed with four eight-storeyed office blocks, a common podium and a basement. The distinctive arched design of the windows is something that had hitherto not been seen in post-independent office buildings in Delhi. The buildings are offset at a considerable distance from the main road and cushioned by a thick cover of trees, creating a natural boundary wall.
