The project, won through a national design competition, is a self-sufficient township for the employees of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a major Indian oil company. A joint venture company, HRRL, between HPCL and Government of Rajasthan, this township is located in the interiors of Thar Desert, adjacent to an upcoming oil refinery of HPCL.
