The National Archives in New Delhi is a very prestigious project which was won through a national design competition. It was envisioned as a s with recessed fenestrations and openings to portray strength, fortitude and stability. The choice of lasting, low maintenance materials for its finis stone amplify the sombre look of the building. A large skylight creates an opening within the massive form to allow light to enter the interiors of National Archives overlooks a tree lined water body and green lawns.
