Industrial

The design of the facility for Hero Honda, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, required a method that would simplify the cumbersome process of manufacture, assembly and transportation. Keeping the demand of the Client in mind, the Architects proposed large-span interiors by designing the complex with a RCC-coffered ceiling of 15-metre grid. The complex consisted of production areas for engine manufacture, press shops, paint shops, heat treatment and assembly areas, standard rooms and engine test areas. The project’s construction was completed in a highly ambitious period of nine months. The design incorporated a compact building footprint, interspersing open areas of lush green space that regulate and maintain the temperature within buildings as well as in the vicinity. The Architects conceptualized the plan of the plant, which is able to manufacture 5,000 units per day, and accommodate a total of about 6,500 workers, based on land regeneration and minimization of overall industrial wastage.
