Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya embodies the rich heritage of Madhya Pradesh in a modern style. The university has been envisaged to be a “Green Campus” that promotes walkability, sustainable design and universal accessibility. A compact axial planning has been adopted to create an evident and efficient circulation network, punctuated by greens and play fields. The academic complex has been planned around a central courtyard, and the built form invites the open space to permeate through it via shaded plinths and courts.
The architectural vocabulary of the university is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional architecture of Madhya Pradesh, using elements such as “chhatris”(umbrella shaped roofs), “jaalis” (ornate lattices), “chajjas” (overhangs), colonnades, etc.
