The Army College of Medical Science and Hospital is located along the Ring Road, as a part of the Army Base which was once the headquarters of the British cantonment in the 1800’s. The new design for this institution was evolved around the existing large trees and complex geometry of the site. Furthermore, since the site has accessibility from both the Ring Road and the Airport approach road on opposite faces, the building was laid out in sinuous curves to respect the dual frontage. The stark juxtaposition of red brick cladding against the curtain glazing along the northern face of the building adds an element of interest. This medical college has an annual intake of 100 students and is attached to the Army Base Hospital in Dhaula Kuan. It is furnished with the latest facilities and has a 1200 seater auditorium along with a hostel for 600 students.
